Oxy automates production with OneVision workflow

Administrative tasks, website, file preparation Large format printer Oxy has been using OneVision's Wide Format Automation Suite workflow for a year and a half. The company tells us what this solution has done for them.

Based in Aubagne in the Bouches-du-Rhône, Oxy is a company specialized in marking and signage solutions. The printing company produces a wide range of applications from totems to technical labels, including giant banners, floor markings or train coverings, for a wide variety of customers.

Equipped with numerous printing presses and finishing equipment, the company decided in 2019 to invest in workflow automation software to optimize its production. And Oxy, seduced by its ease of integration with its ERP, its considerable capabilities and its price, chose Wide Format Automation Suite from German publisher OneVision.

"We especially liked the fact that OneVision Software could link directly to different types of machines, including Canon, Zünd and Caldera for our part." says François Leleu, a design engineer specializing in automation, production flows and IT at Oxy. The deployment of OneVision throughout the production chain will be done in several stages.

Quotes, invoices and delivery notes automatically managed by OneVision

Initially, the role of this OneVision software suite at Oxy is to automate time-consuming sales administration work. By integrating the workflow with the company's ERP, delivery notes, invoices and reminders are now fully automated through the use of attributes and barcodes.

The web-to-print platform easily integrated with ERP

In March 2020, the health crisis disrupted the market. Oxy takes advantage of the situation with OneVision: the company quickly adapts by launching a website with new products (Plexiglas panels, anti-spray caps, marking solutions).

"The OneVision software allowed us to link the web-to-print sales site to our ERP," says the engineer. Without the OneVision software we would not have been able to inject the orders into our ERP and would not have been able to track the flow of orders that came in."

Time saving in file preparation for the large format printer

Today, customer orders via the website and sales representatives are directly injected into Oxy's ERP thanks to OneVision and the employees previously dedicated to these tasks have been assigned to higher value-added missions.

The large-format software solution also manages file preparation for some customers, particularly for amalgam, and sending them to the various printing and finishing lines. "We are already realizing significant time savings on the production of one of our large accounts." He adds: "The work of the designers is focused on real value-added activities and the proofs of print (PODs) are also for a good part done automatically."

The company will take its production automation one step further by expanding it to all of its other customers. OneVision will then manage all of Oxy's production, from order taking to shipping.

OneVision, the end of repetitive tasks for Oxy

"OneVision has allowed us to automate repetitive, low-value tasks by adapting to our ERP environment, appreciates the engineer. The support team is very responsive and keeps us moving forward on various issues."

OneVision's teams will be present at Fespa booth 1-E104, which takes place from October 12 to 15, 2021 at the RAI exhibition center in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
