Three Agfa innovations honored at EDP Awards

The European Digital Press Association awarded the Jeti Tauro H3300 UHS led hybrid large format press, the InterioJet water-based ink press for printing on laminate decor paper and the Alussa leather printing ink.

Agfa achieves a hat-trick at the EDP Awards. The Belgian manufacturer Agfa received three awards from the European Digital Press Association. The federation of editors of 21 European digital printing magazines has been rewarding the best new products in terms of performance, quality and profitability for the user every year since 2007.

And for products launched in 2021, the European Digital Press Association has singled out the Jeti Tauro H3300 UHS led in the category Large and Wide Format Printing euros flatbed/hybrid printers with a printing speed of over 250 m2/h.
The Jeti Tauro H3300 UHS is the ultra-high speed (UHS) press of the Jeti Tauro range, reaching 600 m2/h. This hybrid machine with a 3.3 m wide web is designed for printing signs and posters, but also for printing on corrugated board.

For the EDP jury, "With the UHS, Agfa has taken the Jeti Tauro platform to the next level, putting more volume applications within reach. A high-speed, dual-gantry feeder ensures that the high print speed is used to its fullest."

The European Digital Press Association also awarded the InterioJet 3300 in the category Industrial Printing and Finishing Solutions.
The InterioJet 3300, a multi-pass inkjet printing machine using Agfa's water-based inks, is designed for short and medium runs of decorative paper for laminated surfaces.
As a digital system, the InterioJet is not subject to the limitations of gravure printing such as cylinder length or ink formulation. It allows for the printing of fully customized and non-repetitive designs.

The European association congratulated Agfa for "modifying an existing print engine so that it can successfully use a new ink specifically for the industrial market and for printing laminated patterns on decor paper. In doing so, it helps with the transition from analog to digital printing and enables a faster response to market needs."

In the Industrial Inks category, Agfa won a third EDP award for its alussa leather printing ink .
Alussa is an inkjet printing technology for creating designs on leather for various markets such as interior design, fashion and automotive. It addresses the growing need for brands to differentiate and personalize products.
The Alussa system, consisting of the Alussa eTU printer, Alussa iUL10 inks and workflow software, is "the only digital leather printing solution that guarantees superior quality and durability" according to Agfa.

The EDP Association appreciates that the Alussa ink can realize "industrial scale leather printing". "The printing is done in four-color plus white, which gives a reliable result even on colored leather. Together with the leather coatings developed in collaboration with TFL, this gives a colorfast impression that can be described as unique."

Vincent Wille, president of Digital Print and Chemicals at Agfa, said: "We are very proud to have our inkjet printing solutions recognized once again with this mark of quality and innovation. We are committed to providing next generation printing solutions that enable print service providers to grow profitably. The awards given to our solutions by the EDP reflect the added value we bring to our customers."
