Shorter delivery times at Bobst

Thanks to its new organization, Bobst will guarantee a next-day shipment for a parts order placed before 9 pm.

"Radical transformation" for Bobst in its product and spare parts supply chain. The manufacturer of cutting, printing and processing equipment for labels, board and packaging will create a new logistics hub to serve the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region more quickly. This is "a huge leap forward in terms of digitization and automation."

To achieve this, the Swiss manufacturer has transformed its supply chain by installing a new warehouse in Genk, Belgium. The site is equipped with solar and wind power generation units and a water recovery system, and its operation is highly automated and digitalized.

"Our new warehouse will pool the logistics capabilities of seven of our smaller warehouses." explains Bobst. "Thanks to it, we will now be able to guarantee next-day shipping for orders placed before 9 p.m. In addition to faster delivery times, our customers will have better visibility into their orders throughout the delivery process, from order validation to package arrival."

This logistics modification project includes the transfer of 52,000 references from Switzerland to Belgium. Soon 160 trucks will be mobilized during 11 weeks to move these 1,000 tons of stock.

"The idea is to implement a more modern and flexible process for the delivery of parts and products, and we are confident that this will be to the benefit of our customers, who need to receive their items as quickly and in the best possible condition."
