French software developer Caldera releases version 16 of CalderaRIP, its RIP designed for large format digital printing and cutting. This version, which succeeds V15.1, includes new features and a new license type.
The CalderaRIP V16 version features Adobe PDF Print Engine V6 the latest version of Adobe's PDF engine (APPE). Arnaud Fabre, product manager at Caldera, says: " We were the first RIP solution to partner with Adobe to provide the best PDF print engine to the large format printing industry, and now we're the first to deliver its 6th version with all its enhancements."
New features with CalderaRIP V16
APPE V6 ensures that printers can reproduce the designer's intended look and feel, according to Caldera, with wider gamuts and better support for varnishes and films.
CalderaRIP V16 is now compatible with MacOS Ventura and more than 50 Print and Cut drivers have been added.
CalderaRIP V16 also integrates the latest FOGRA standards . These standards are available in the PrintStandardVerifier module and allow you to perform conformity checks before printing.
The new version of the large format RiP also allows group several projects together with different cut contours in a single multipage PDF file and open it directly with CalderaRIP V16.
The Visual Cut and Grand Cut tools now include the entry of the number of passages to easily cut thicker materials and the 180° pivot ° in one click of the work to facilitate lamination and sublimation.
The new function GrandCut Editor allows you to create and combine materials and methods to cut.
Image Step&Repeat is a feature deployed to optimize the cutting path. During job preparation, CalderaRIP V16 will automatically group images by shape and in rows to avoid unnecessary blade back and forth.
CalderaDock V2.0 becomes the central application for registration and license management of Caldera products. For each new license registered, the validation process is now automated.
