Fiery continues to strengthen its foothold in the textile sector. After announcing in November the acquisition of Spanish publisher Inèdit Software, specialized in digital textile printing workflows, the American group launches Digital Factory 12, an enhanced version of its RIP software for textile printers. This update directly targets the fast-growing DTF (direct-to-film) and DTG (direct-to-garment) printing segments, with functions hitherto absent from this range.
Among the noteworthy evolutions, version 12 introduces a new rendering mode, "saturation rendering intent", designed to enhance the liveliness of tones in traditionally dull areas, without altering natural skin tones.
Digital Factory 12 also includes the Fiery Color Profiler module. This enables print operators to achieve consistent, professional-quality output, using spectrophotometers to calibrate their printers and create ICC profiles in-house.
The new Fiery RIP also includes a Gang Sheet Builder, natively integrated into the software. This visual imposition tool eliminates the need for third-party tools and enables drag-and-drop page layouts. Users can automatically group, nest and close sheets from the queue, with real-time preview.
Last but not least, version 12 includes an enhanced marking system, with "clearer labels, orientation indicators and finishing guides". Marks, direction arrows and cutting guides can be configured to limit processing errors, speed up post-printing steps and organize files for printing.
Fiery specifies that these functions are compatible with existing workflows, without specifying minimum configuration requirements. The software is already available via the reseller network or online.
"Whether you're printing your first customized T-shirt or your thousandth, Digital Factory 12 gives you the features you need to fully exploit your printing potential." says Fiery CEO Toby Weiss in a press release.
