Direct-to-Film technology is gaining ground in textile workshops, between the need for flexibility and the quest for stable production rates. Japanese manufacturer Epson has therefore launched the SureColor G9000, "Epson's first high-productivity DTFilm roll-to-roll system" .
The SureColor G9000, featuring a PrecisionCore Micro TFP head and integrated front heater, has a 1âeuros626 mm (64") width, covering the most common DTF media widths on the market.
On this new SureColor, Epson puts the emphasis on machine availability, with automatic daily maintenance. The system includes a cloth wiper for printhead cleaning, as well as automated cleaning of the suction cap. This reduces operator intervention time in busy production environments.
This DTF printer runs on 1.6 L UltraChrome DF ink pockets, which maintain a steady print rate, according to Epson, and its default resolution is 1200 x 600 dpi.
On the operator's side, the G9000 features a 4.3" touch screen, an indicator light and internal lighting for the print area.
The printer comes with Epson Edge Print Pro and Fiery Digital Factory Epson Production Edition RIP. But it also supports most third-party RIP solutions, enabling it to be integrated into existing production workflows.
"Customers have told us of their needs for increased productivity, enhanced reliability and reduced maintenance. The SC-G9000 meets all these expectations, offering solutions for demanding production environments", says Grant Cooke, Commercial and Industrial Printing Product Manager, Epson Europe.
The SureColor G9000 completes Epson's DTF roll-to-roll range, which also includes the 900 mm SC-G6000.
