Gallus appoints new CEO

The new CEO, Dario Urbinati, has the mission to develop new technologies and services for the narrow web segment.

Today, the Swiss manufacturer of small web presses Gallus appointed its sales and service director Dario Urbinati as CEO. He replaces Frank Schaum, who will now head the print division of Heidelberg, the parent company of the 300-employee group, and who will remain as head of its board of directors.

The new leader's mission and ambition is to "to offer dynamic technologies and services to ensure the future of the narrow web segment".

Dario Urbinati has a strong background in the graphic arts sector and more specifically in the label industry. It was in 2007 that he joined Gallus for the first time. Until 2016, he held various positions including the last general manager of the Southeast Asia region. He then joined the Chinese subsidiary of the Italian manufacturer of industrial machinery Omet where he was General Manager of the narrow/medium width segment. Then he works from 2019 to 2021 at the manufacturer of metal packaging solutions Actega Metal Print as Director of Sales and Marketing and returns to the Swiss group as Director of Sales and Service.

Under the direction of Dario Urbinati, Gallus will inaugurate the Gallus Experience Center at the headquarters of the St. Gallen, Switzerland-based euro group.
The new facility, scheduled to open in spring 2023, was designed to facilitate collaboration within the label production chain by bringing together customers, brands and suppliers to solve key industry issues and create new business opportunities.
