Koenig & Bauer unveils its new XD Pro CI flexo press

This XD Pro CI flexo printing machine is designed for short-run markets in both plastic and fiber-based flexible packaging.

German manufacturer Koenig & Bauer launches a new generation of flexo rotary presses with the XD Pro CI.
The new press, which now joins the three machines in the Evo range, has been designed to meet the demands of the just-in-time flexible packaging market, with great flexibility for short runs.

Using solvent- and water-based inks, the XD Pro CI offers premium print quality on print widths from 1,000 to 1,400 mm and at speeds of up to 500 m/min, says Italian flexo division Flexotecnica Koenig & Bauer.
This printing machine handles films, breathable, stretch and shrink materials, laminates and paper. Print lengths range from 330 to 850 mm.

Modular in design, the XD Pro CI from Koenig & Bauer can be configured with eight or 10 printing units, and can combine other modules for special applications (e.g. coating, laminating) inline in a single pass.

Oliver Baar, Director of Commercial Product Management at Koenig & Bauer Digital & Webfed, states: "The XD Pro combines nearly 50 years' experience of the Italian flexo market with German engineering. It represents the best in its class, adding value for customers by offering reliable performance, process consistency and exceptional versatility thanks to cutting-edge technology.

It's the ideal machine to meet the demands of the just-in-time market, thanks to its great flexibility in short-run production: the XD Pro features an ergonomic design with easy access to the printing units, as well as advanced automation, which enables fast changeovers with minimum waste."
