After six months in production, Bernard Denjoy, Incarta's managing director, takes stock of his Rapida 106 offset press from Koenig & Bauer.

Visit at the end of 2022, Incarta put its first press from German manufacturer Koenig & Bauer into production . This offset press, a Rapida 106 6-color plus varnish with high-speed module, replaced a press from another manufacturer in the Bon-Encontre workshop in the Lot-et-Garonne region.

The 40-strong company, with sales of 7 million euros, specializes in folding carton packaging, producing 30% of its volumes for tobacco and electronic cigarettes, 30% for cosmetics and 40% for food and premium markets. The company's varied production runs and substrates call for great flexibility.

Bernard Denjoy, founder and CEO of Incarta, explains: "When we decided to invest in a new offset press, we wanted a machine that would guarantee us both flexibility and quality, and that would secure our paper passage."
He explains: "We weren't looking for a fighter jet, but a machine adapted to our needs, so it was versatile, robust, easy to drive and with relevant options."

Incarta's custom-built Rapida 1106-6+L high-speed press is equipped with a host of automation features, and can print at speeds of up to 18,000 fph with non-curved plates.

Rapida delivers quality and productivity gains

After more than six months in use, Bernard Denjoy's assessment is positive. "The new Rapida 106 gives us fantastic comfort. Unlike before, we can easily change formats and weights, which means we organize our work differently. (...) The SIS feeder (Sensoric Infeed System is a sensor-assisted tracking system, Editor's note) is a minor revolution for us, because it makes the paper-based input process so reliable"

The printer also particularly appreciates the CleanTronic SRW automatic roller washing system, as well as the AniloxLoader, which enables automatic anilox roller changeover, as the company regularly changes varnish.

"On long runs, we've gone from an average speed of 9,500 to 14,000 sheets/h, and we still have room for improvement. The aim of our investment was to drive the company forward both qualitatively and quantitatively, and this has now been achieved."
