Kongsberg Ultimate, "designed for precision and built for productivity"

Featuring drive technology directed by an infinite linear motor, the Kongsberg Ultimate cutting table reaches a cutting speed of 168 meters per minute and is equipped with reinforced safety systems.

Kongsberg PCS launches its new Kongsberg Ultimate digital cutting table for high-volume corrugated board and sign production. The Kongsberg Ultimate is "a solution designed for precision and built for productivity" says the Belgian manufacturer.

Kongsberg has equipped the Ultimate with a new drive technology directed by an infinite linear motor and a camera on the tool head. As a result, the cutting table offers a support force of 50 kg for stable creasing, an acceleration rate of up to 2.74 G (with the Kongsberg Ultimate 24) for clean cuts, and a cutting speed of up to 168 meters per minute.
By comparison, the fastest table in the previous range, the Kongsberg C, has a maximum speed of 100 m/min and accelerations of 1.7 G.

With such strength and speed, the manufacturer has not neglected personnel safety. The Kongsberg Ultimate is equipped with the Kongsberg Smartzone solution, a two-stage detection system for people approaching the table. When a person approaches (an operator for a visual inspection, for example), the machine slows down. If they approach again, the table stops working.
What's more, brightly colored LEDs, visible from all directions, indicate the machine's status.

The Kongsberg Ultimate has three tool slots: one for heavy-duty tools and two for fast tools. Cutting, creasing and perforating jobs on corrugated board can be carried out in sequence, without changing tools.
And existing Kongsberg C-series tools are compatible with the new cutting platform.

The machines are modular, able to switch from manual production to semi-automated production with a feeder and stacker module, and to automated production with the robotic material handling system.

This new range, which handles media up to 30 mm thick, comes in four models: the Kongsberg Ultimate 24 with a 1680 x 3200 mm work area, the Kongsberg Ultimate 44 with 2210 x 3200 mm, the Kongsberg Ultimate 64 with 3210 x 3200 mm and the Kongsberg Ultimate 66 with 3210 x 4800 mm.
