PrimeCenter 3.0: new features in Caldera's prepress software for printing and die-cutting

Caldera PrimeCenter 3.0 has been enhanced with new features to make it easier to learn the software and prepare files ready for cutting, including driver licenses.

Strasbourg-based publisher Caldera adds new features to PrimeCenter, its prepress software for digital printing and cutting, with the launch of PrimeCenter 3.0.

A new home page

To facilitate the arrival of a new collaborator, the home page now offers additional resources. Tutorials on how to prepare banner or sticker files, for example, are available from this page, as are PrimeCenter's general settings, which have been reorganized.

Two driver licenses with PrimeCenter 3.0

With version 3.0, Caldera also makes it easier to adapt cutting files to industrial cutting solutions, thanks to driver licenses. These licenses enable users to assign specific cutting drivers to their software according to the machines they operate.
Isabelle Muligo, Caldera Product Manager, comments: "As more than half of our users own several types of cutting machines, our aim is to make the software more adapted to the specific conditions of each production environment."

By default, a PrimeCenter license will include two Cut driver licenses: a Generic Cut driver family license and a Brand Cut driver family license for use with Zünd or Kongsberg machines. Other cut drivers will continue to be added.
Each license can be assigned to one type of cutting driver, and will enable users to use it with up to 10 cutting devices.

"Although PrimeCenter doesn't drive cutting devices directly, these drivers will make it easier to prepare cutting files tailored to the user's devices. Once the drivers have been assigned, PrimeCenter will only display the appropriate options for these devices, making the software more personalized to your needs."
Other types of cutting driver will be developed to further simplify file preparation.

Enhanced Zünd drivers and Generic PDF

In addition, the existing Zünd Cut Center (ZCC) drivers and Generic PDF have been modified to enhance the use of these cutting devices. A new option allows the cutter marks to be adjusted to the substrate, a particularly useful feature for machines with automatic mark detection.

PrimeCenter 3.0 prepress software features further enhancements, including interface changes and corrected translations.
