Komori's third digital printing press, the J-throne 29, which will make its debut at Drupa 2024, is said by its manufacturer to offer "the highest return on investment in the world".

Komori launches a new digital printing press. Called the J-throne 29, this UV inkjet sheetfed press is a 29-inch press (i.e. 585×750 cm or B2+ format), and will be unveiled for the first time at Drupa 2024, from May 28 to June 7 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The J-throne 29 joins Komori's portfolio of digital presses, which includes the Impremia IS29, a B2+ sheetfed UV inkjet digital printing system, and the Impremia IS29, a B2+ sheetfed UV inkjet digital printing system Impremia NS40 b-format sheet-fed (40") nanographic printing system, both launched at the previous Drupa in 2016.

According to Komori, this new UV inkjet press offers "the world's highest return on investment thanks to exceptional speed and performance" .

The J-throne 29 boasts a maximum speed of 6,000 sheets/hr for single-sided printing, the fastest B2+ format inkjet press, according to the Japanese manufacturer. In duplex mode, the press reaches 3,000 sheets/h thanks to a perfecting mechanism based on Komori offset presses.

With its newly formulated UV ink, the J-throne 29 prints on a wide range of substrates, from paper to coated and uncoated cardboard without pre-treatment, from 0.06 to 0.6 cm thick on one side (and from 0.06 to 0.45 cm on both sides).
