Belgium's Summa has teamed up with Italian manufacturer Caron to launch a new loading option for its L1810 laser textile cutters, the Caron Cradle support loader.
This Caron Cradle loader is designed to facilitate loading and changing of supports on the laser cutter for stretch textiles (such as sportswear and swimwear), which, even if large and heavy, can be handled by a single operator.
The loader lowers and tilts towards the operator. And there's no need for a chuck to attach the fabric to the machine.
Once the support has passed, the fabric is ready for the cutting process. "Unlike other unwinders with which you have to go through a long length of fabric before you can start cutting, the Caron Cradle feeder guarantees materials that are ready to cut immediately." says Summa, adding that only 10 cm of support is required for pre-feeding.
Like all standard feeders, it automatically feeds the media to the cutter and detects the edges of the media, aligning the fabric.
The loader handles rolls weighing up to 100 kg, with a diameter of 80 cm and a width of 180 cm.
