The brand recently launched carton packaging for its Vital Proteins brand in the USA. This has resulted in a 90% reduction in the amount of plastic used compared to previous packaging. The packaging was developed by experts at Nestlé Health Science's research and development center in Bridgewater, New Jersey, in collaboration with external partners. The new can features a rigid, leak-proof lid and is easy to handle.

In the UK, Nestlé recently launched a high-barrier paper refill solution for Nescafé. The weight of the packaging is reduced by 97%, and the paper packaging can be recycled like any other waste of the same type. The brand assures the same freshness and quality of coffee as with plastic packaging. In Europe, the Nescafé Cappuccino range now has a new paper packaging instead of the plastic box.

A partnership to improve recyclability
