Philippe Apeloig, renowned graphic designer, has decided to share part of his artistic heritage by making his personal collection of posters accessible. Accustomed to the walls of the greatest museums, such as the BnF and the Stedelijk Museum, these exceptional works of typography are now available for sale. This initiative, supported by the Recto Verso studio, makes it possible to acquire rare, hand-signed prints.
Born in 1962, Philippe Apeloig has established himself as one of the leading figures in contemporary graphic design. A graduate of the Duperré and Ensad schools, he perfected his art during internships at Total Design in Amsterdam and with April Greiman in Los Angeles, a pioneer of computer-aided graphic design. Founder of his own studio in 1989, he has collaborated with such emblematic cultural institutions as the Louvre Museum, the Théâtre du Châtelet and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Marrakech. Renowned for his mastery of typography and his conceptual approach, he has also taught at Ensad and Cooper Union in New York. Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres since 2011, he is a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale. His work, often exhibited in renowned museums, bears witness to his lasting influence on French and international graphic design.
Each piece in this collection was created for prestigious exhibitions or collaborations. Silk-screen printed on generous formats (100 x 150 cm), they reflect Philippe Apeloig's expertise in typography and graphic composition. With circulation limited to a few copies, these posters acquire a unique patrimonial value.
For graphic design professionals and typography enthusiasts alike, this sale is a unique opportunity. Not only does it offer the chance to acquire an original work of art, it also provides an opportunity to immerse oneself in the world of a creator who has left his mark on several decades of graphic design in France and abroad.
