Bar Graphic Machinery (BGM) expands its product range with the launch of the iSR 550/22 inch wide web slitter. As printers invest in wide web presses to optimize production, the need for suitable finishing equipment is sometimes underestimated. With a 550 mm (22") web width, the new BGM slitter aims to fill this gap.
Accessible advanced functions
"The majority, if not all, of 550mm-width finishing systems on the market today are servo-driven, as they are generally intended to handle a range of flexible substrates." says BGM. This machine has been specially developed as a 550 mm label slitter with features usually reserved for high-end models at "a more affordable price".
The iSR 550 features a high-capacity unwinder with a diameter of 1 metre, incorporating a roller lifting system. Its GPS gear positioning system enables automatic brake alignment, reducing operator intervention. The machine also includes the CAP system, which guarantees constant air pressure on the unwinder mandrel to compensate for any leaks.
BGM's pure-cut rotary slitter is based on self-aligning cutting shafts, providing easy access for blade adjustment. A pressure-adjustable siliconized pinch roller reduces adhesion problems that can arise when processing substrates.
The iSR 550 features an electronically controlled torque rewind system, compatible with core diameters ranging from 19 to 152 mm. Interchangeable air-expanding rewind mandrels and a quick-lock mandrel holder ensure fast, efficient handling.
ISR 550 with modular architecture
What's more, this slitter is modular, allowing options to be added: double rewinding, automatic inspection systems, waste rewinding, 100% inspection, integration of an inkjet module or even a razor-cutting unit with venturi extraction.
Ahead of its official launch at the end of March, the iSR 550 has already aroused market interest, with two orders already booked
