On its stand at Labelexpo 2025, Plockmatic Group is exhibiting an expanded range of digital solutions for reel-to-reel labeling. Among the machines on show, the double-blade ColorCut LCF520 catches the eye, as does a four-head prototype still under display.

Visitors to Labelexpo 2025, currently taking place at Fira Gran Via in Barcelona, can discover Plockmatic Group's ColorCut digital cutting systems at stand 5G26, with the new LCF520 and a prototype of the ColorCut LCF840Di at the center of the demonstrations.

The end of rotary cutters for very short seriesâeuros¯?

Equipped with two blades and an automatic media tracking system, the 420mm-wide LCF520, a derivative of the LCF500 single-blade machine, is aimed at converters who want to produce roll-to-roll jobs on demand, without using a rotary diecutter, and who want to maintain the speed and precision required for short and medium runs.

With this technology, the Swedish manufacturer aims to reduce the cost and time involved in manufacturing cutting dies.
A complex shape can cost several thousand euros, and requires a 24 to 48-hour lead time with a specialized subcontractor, whereas the new ColorCut system can cut directly from digital files, without tools, in a wide variety of shapes, assures the manufacturer.

A prototype with four blades for observation

In addition to the LCF520, the public can preview the ColorCut LCF840Di prototype, equipped with four cutting heads. This model is not yet operational. Its market launch is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.

This future machine will incorporate digital guidance from the reel infeed, as well as an automated waste evacuation system. The aim is to increase productivity while reducing intermediate handling.

The rest of the ColorCut range is also presented, including the LC330 (automated entry-level), the LC700 Pro for professional cycles and the LC6500, designed for small-format flat sheets. The latter can also be used for light packaging and POP applications.
