Epson SurePress L5034 adopted in France, Japan and China

EAP Mézière will be the first French company to install the new SurePress L5034 water-based digital press. Two other contracts, including an international one, have been signed with Asia.

A tripletâeuros! Presented at the Labelexpo 2025 trade show, which runs until September 19th in Barcelona, Epsonâ??s SurePress L5034 has already attracted three label converters. The Japanese manufacturer announces that it has signed agreements with two Asian manufacturers - OSP Group and Suzhou LVMAN - as well as with French converter EAP Mézière, a subsidiary of the CEA group, based in Marne-la-Vallée in Seine-et-Marne.

France's first SurePress L5034 to meet food industry standards

Founded in 1954, EAP Mézière specializes in self-adhesive and cardboard label printing. The company, which serves a diversified customer base, already had two SurePress L-6X34VW UV presses, as well as a previous-generation aqueous press, the L-4533AW, which will be replaced by this brand-new model, the SurePress L5034. The label manufacturer becomes the first customer in France to equip itself with this model.

According to Xavier Hilaire, CEO of EAP Mézière, this very first machine to be installed in France meets new market expectations, notably the growing demand for shorter print runs, shorter lead-times and the maintenance of high quality. He believes that this latest-generation digital press will reinforce his ability to meet the demands of food industry standards. "It complements our existing print fleet and opens up new prospects for us to expand our service offering to an even broader target group of customers and respond to the new dynamics of theâeuros market!"

Worldwide deployment for OSP Group

In Japan, Osaka Sealing Printing (OSP) is planning a global roll-out of the SurePress L5034 in its international production network.
Employing over 4,500 people, OSP is a major manufacturer of labels, films and related packaging products for the food sector and other regulated markets: the group holds around a third of the Japanese label market.

The SurePress L5034 press will be used to standardize production at the group's various production sites in Japan and abroad, thanks in particular to water-based inks and an extended gamut for brand color fidelity. The number of machines and the location of their installations have not yet been revealed.

Tadashi Matsuguchi, President of OSP Group, stresses the importance of stability, food safety and color consistency in the markets addressed by the Group. He points out that technical evaluation of the SurePress L5034 has confirmed the press's ability to meet these industrial criteria.

New quality and speed for China's Suzhou LVMAN

The third press will be installed at Suzhou LVMAN Digital Technology, a Chinese manufacturer of self-adhesive labels, user manuals and cardboard boxes for the electronics, household appliance, electronics and electronics industries
pharmaceuticals, food, automotive and cosmetics.

Suzhou LVMAN Digital Technology intends to enhance its capabilities with the integration of the L5034, and improve print quality and speed.

SurePress L5034, a press designed for food safety

Positioned as a water-based digital label press, the SurePress L5034 targets markets with high food safety and chemical compliance requirements. It features a six-color ink set (CMYK + orange + green), offering extensive Pantone tone coverage. Epson's PrecisionCore printheads offer 1200 DPI resolution. The press also incorporates a real-time nozzle verification system, an automated cleaning device, a head alignment camera, and a reinforced conveyor capable of supporting up to 120 kg.

Launched at Labelexpo 2025, the L5034 complements the existing range of SurePress presses (L-6534VW and L-4733AW), also exhibited at Labelexpo.
