Zinc from Parisian rooftops, Oxysign's new communication medium

The Oxysign group welcomes Toit de Paris, a start-up specializing in the reuse of zinc from Parisian roofs. This integration combines traditional know-how and industrial production in a responsible development approach.

On the rooftops of Paris, zinc, weathered by the decades, finds a second life in signage. This emblematic material of the Parisian urban landscape is now becoming a resource for Oxysign. Indeed, the Aubagne-based group specializing in industrial marking and signage has just integrated the Toit de Paris startup into its activities.

Roof fragments transformed into signage

Founded by Constance Fichet, Toit de Paris has been developing an original know-how for several years: transforming fragments of Parisian roofs into signage, outdoor landscaping, objects or even re-use in construction.
This positioning, at the crossroads of craftsmanship, design and the circular economy, appealed to Oxysign. "Constance Fichet [...] had this great idea: a piece of history at the service of a sustainable and innovative future" said Sébastien Trautmann, Group Chairman.

Recovered zinc, slate, tile or copper, often from renovation sites, is cut, engraved or screen-printed. Each piece bears the traces of its previous use, and becomes a communication medium in its own right, rooted in the history of the capital. This approach is part of a wider trend to make the most of reused materials in the printing and signage professions.

A start-up backed by a 250-employee group

With this merger, Toit de Paris, which currently employs two people and generates sales of over 100âeuros000Â euros, changes scale.
Its zinc transformation activity will now be supported by the production resources of Oxysign, which employs 250 people at seven sites and generates sales of 35 million euros. In the words of Sébastien Trautmann, this integration will make it possible to "to make this project grow and shine even brighter".

And for the Oxysign group, which includes Oxysign, Semios and Interimages, and now Toit de Paris, "this merger marks an important step [...] that accelerates its virtuous, heritage-based approach, by anchoring its actions even more firmly in the real world."

The integration of Toit de Paris will also enable Oxysign to offer unique signage solutions to its customers. "In the future, your signage will be able to incorporate a real piece of Parisian history "concludes Sébastien Trautmann.
