Eco3 raises the price of its offset plates

This rise in Eco3 offset plate prices will be in double digits, and is unlikely to be reversed "in the near future".

Pressure on raw material costs continues to have an impact on the graphics chain. After inks and paper, it's now the turn of offset plates. Belgian supplier Eco3 has announced an international price increase for its offset plates and associated chemicals, effective March 1.

This decision was prompted by the continuing rise in the price of aluminum, the central component of offset printing plates. Added to this is the rising cost of treatments and processes related to this material.

"Despite our constant efforts to improve internal efficiency, the sharp rise in production costs makes this tariff change unavoidable to guarantee the sustainability of our supplies and the quality of our services." says Frederik Dehing, Global Sales Director.

And he warns: " price increase will reach double digits, the precise adjustment will depend on the specific characteristics of each product.

Visit paper manufacturer Sappi had already announced a price increase for its foil range of woodfree coated paper (WFC) to March 16, 2026, as well as german ink manufacturer Hubergroup also across its entire product portfolio in Europe.
