Offset, digital, postpress, and finishing: A small German printing company offers a wide range of services and has been using Heidelberg?s Prinect software for the past ten years.

For ten years, the German printing company Druckhaus Waitkewitsch has been using Heidelberg?s Prinect workflow to manage its production. With just 25 employees, the family-owned print shop handles the entire production chain, from prepress to printing, through finishing, converting, and logistics.

The printing fleet includes two Heidelberg Versafire digital presses and a Speedmaster SM 52 offset press equipped with LED-UV technology. Its production consists mainly of calendars, brochures, and packaging for the food industry. Druckhaus Waitkewitsch also offers various finishing options, including the application of standard and scented varnishes.

Heidelberg's Prinect workflow enables the coordination of the various stages of production by centralizing production information and facilitating its transfer between different workstations. According to Heidelberg, this system allows this small business to handle a wide range of jobs cost-effectively, despite having a limited workforce.

"Regional printing companies such as Druckhaus Waitkewitsch form the backbone of the mid-sized printing industry in Europe" , says Jürgen Grimm, Prinect manager and AI coordinator at Heidelberg. "Our goal is to ensure these companies remain competitive in a consolidating market through stable processes, seamless integration, and a partner committed to supporting them over the long term."
