Gallus is launching a new flexographic press manufactured in India. The Swiss manufacturer, a subsidiary of the German company Heidelberg, took advantage of the Loupe India 2026 trade show to unveil the Flexomaster, a press designed for label and flexible packaging printers.
What makes it unique? It was developed by Gallus, but it is entirely assembled in India to meet the needs of local printers, particularly in terms of investment and production costs.
Gallus is very familiar with the Indian market, where the manufacturer has installed more than 150 presses over the course of its 30-year presence there. And the outlook is promising: according to Heidelberg, the Indian packaging market, currently estimated at $12 billion, could reach $20 billion by 2030.
The Gallus Flexomaster, a 440-mm flexographic press
The Gallus Flexomaster has a print width of 440 mm and can reach a speed of 200 meters per minute. It can accommodate up to twelve printing and finishing stations.
In addition to flexography, it is possible to incorporate screen printing','www.printindustry.news/search/serigraphy');" class="lien-auto-article" href="https://www.printindustry.news/search/serigraphy">screen printing and several finishing modules, including cold foil stamping, lamination, and web reversal.
This allows you to produce various types of labels, such as adhesive labels, shrink sleeves, wet-glue labels, and IML labels.
The Flexomaster is also capable of producing certain types of flexible packaging, such as bags and pouches on a roll.
Gallus is primarily targeting the logistics, household and technical products, and pharmaceutical markets with this new press, as well as the cosmetics and hygiene sectors.
Plans for International Marketing
Although Gallus has not yet announced the price of its new press, the manufacturer emphasizes that it is tailored to the economic constraints of Indian printers.
"Processors need technologies tailored to the realities of their business, from capital and operating costs to the products they produce on a daily basis." , explains Samir Patkar, president of Heidelberg India.
The Loupe India trade show also provides Gallus with an opportunity to showcase its Screeny Printing Unit for the first time in the country. This unit can be integrated into existing narrow-web presses, regardless of their brand.
As for the Flexomaster, the first installations in India are scheduled for 2027. The manufacturer then plans to gradually introduce this press to other countries with similar needs.
