German manufacturer Baumann Maschinenbau Solms was placed under provisional insolvency proceedings on February 10, 2026. The provisional administrator indicates that a long-term restructuring and a sale within the framework of a structured M&A process are being sought.
Based in Solms, Germany, Baumann Maschinenbau Solms (Baumann MBS) develops and manufactures automation solutions for cutting machines in the printing and paper industries (joggers, stack lifters and turners, blowing tables and integrated systems). The company also develops filling systems for the food industry. The manufacturer distributes its machinery under the BaumannPerfecta brand. The manufacturer belongs to the German family-owned Baumann Group, founded in 1930 and employing 300 people.
Operations continue without restriction. Wages are guaranteed until the end of March by the German insolvency compensation scheme.
This procedure comes at a time when the Group is already under pressure. At the end of December 2025, the Dresden District Court approved the opening of insolvency proceedings under self-administration for Perfecta Schneidemaschinenwerk in Bautzen .
The Baumann Group also includes Wohlenberg Buchbindesysteme, which develops and produces collators, saddlestitchers, trilateral cutters and other equipment for the graphic arts sector, and Wohlenberg Cutting Systems, dedicated to the post-press sector with high-performance binders and cutters.
