Altago continues to make acquisitions. After CPL-OP Emballages in 2025 the packaging manufacturer takes over L'Hexagone, specialized in honeycomb cardboard. This operation strengthens the cartonboard business of the group, which is managed from Wambrechies in the Nord region of France, and which now comprises 18 companies and 800 employees, with sales of 242 million euros by 2025 in four business segments.
L'Hexagone, a manufacturer of honeycomb cardboard based in La Guerche-de-Bretagne in Ille-et-Vilaine, employs 59 people at two production sites: Ille-et-Vilaine and L'Hexagone 64, formerly Corint Sud, located near the Spanish border. The company generated sales of 13.6 million euros, 29% of which were exported. It works for some 380 industrial and logistics customers, including BSH, Danfoss, Ikea, Saint-Gobain and the French Defence Procurement Agency.
Since 2016, L'Hexagone has been headed by Gilles Latil. The CEO, who is also a member of the executive committee of the European Manufacturers Paper Honeycomb Association (EMPHA), the European association of honeycomb paperboard manufacturers, notably steered the construction of the new Breton plant due to come on stream in 2021.
"Joining the Altago group means having the resources to take a new European step forward in a market we know intimately and whose considerable growth potential we measure every day", says Gilles Latil.
Alveolar board is one of the most active markets in industrial packaging, driven in particular by the reduction in the use of plastic and the replacement of synthetic cushioning materials, according to the Group.
"Hexagone embodies our vision" adds Altago CEO Hervé Marchand. "The Altago Group is not just a new banner. It's an industrial and societal project: consolidating a growing group, developing our synergies and supporting our customers in the transition to high-performance, sustainable packaging."
In October 2025, the family group founded by Bertrand Bulteau, Bulteau Développement, opted for the name Altago "asserts an identity that matches its ambitions" and "embodies a unique model in France: manufacturer, converter and distributor of packaging", he reminds .
