Fujifilm Business Innovation is launching the Revoria Press PC2120, a new digital toner press. As the new flagship model in the Revoria Press lineup, the PC2120 succeeds the PC1120 by notably enhancing prepress automation and production control, and expanding the color gamut with a new green toner.
Like the previous model, the Revoria PC2120 reaches a speed of 120 A4 pages per minute and handles media weighing from 52 to 400 g/m 2 and from 98 x 146 mm up to sheets measuring 330 x 1,300 mm, using specialized modules. This SuperColor press prints up to six colors in a single pass, with four CMYK stations supplemented by two special toners. However, its palette now includes not six but seven special toners: pink, gold, silver, clear, white, a toner for textured paper, and now green.
This green toner is the main new color addition. When combined with pink, Fujifilm states that it can reproduce 93% of the colors in the Pantone Formula Guide Solid Coated with a ?E00 of 3 or less, according to Pantone certification.
The Revoria PC2120 can also automatically convert RGB data into CMYK, green, and magenta separations. Fujifilm aims to minimize the preparation steps required to utilize these additional colors. An on-screen preview also allows users to check how the colors will appear before printing.
The Japanese manufacturer has also developed prepress automation: the Substrate Profiler analyzes the loaded paper to recommend production settings, and the Revoria Flow server?whose RIP processes data at 1,200 x 1,200 dpi?also analyzes documents to apply corrections, particularly to text, fine lines, and images. A Fiery print server is also available as an option.
During production, the optional Smart Monitoring Gate monitors color deviations and registration to make corrections during the print run. This feature can also be used with green, pink, gold, silver, and white toners.
For media that are prone to accumulating static electricity?such as metallized films and papers?Fujifilm also offers the optional D1 static elimination module.
