Karteck is reorganizing its production by acquiring CV Pack

By acquiring packaging manufacturer CV Pack in court, Karteck has secured a second production facility. The cardboard manufacturer is already planning new investments and hiring.

Karteck continues to grow. The cardboard packaging manufacturer, based in Valence in the Drôme department, has just acquired CV Pack, a company specializing in custom packaging and printed marketing materials located in Saint-Chamond in the Loire department. The cardboard manufacturer was selected on Thursday, October 22, by the Saint-Étienne Commercial Court, beating out another bidder.

Founded in 2002, CV Pack, which had 10 employees, was placed under court-supervised restructuring on July 1 of this year. It had generated revenue of 2.13 million euros in 2025.

Karteck is taking on six employees, as the administrative roles are now redundant. However, its CEO, Jean-Michel Leone, plans to hire new staff for the production floor in the coming months. Mathieu Vallas, son of CV Pack?s founder, is becoming technical manager, while Emmanuelle Bouvier, who has led the company since 2020, will assist the new owner for six months.

A second facility to ease production pressure

With this acquisition, Karteck has added a second production facility. The cardboard packaging manufacturer lacked the space at its Valence plant to meet all demand.

It must be said that business is going well: Karteck, which had 28 employees before the takeover, is expected to generate 4.2 million euros in revenue this year, compared with 3.8 million in 2025.

"I think we're on the right track: small- and medium-volume runs, with short lead times and a wide range of services. We're also fortunate to have clients who are growing," Jean-Michel Leone explains. Its growth, which has averaged nearly 16% annually over the past two years, is also driven by its all-cardboard blister pack called BlisKart, launched three years ago and now accounting for a quarter of its revenue. "And with the new regulations, this trend is expected to continue"  the executive adds.

With CV Pack, Karteck will be able to divide its production between two plants located about an hour apart. In particular, the Saint-Chamond facility will take over some of the machining operations previously carried out in Valence.

This reorganization will also allow us to adopt digital printing, "a project that has been in the works for a long time" . With CV Pack, Karteck now has a B2-format HP Indigo 12000 press, whereas its previous equipment was limited to SRA3.

This second site also addresses an increasingly common need among major clients: to have a backup solution to ensure the continuity of their production.

New investments in the works

CV Pack will also benefit from new machinery investments, which have become difficult to finance given the company?s small size. As a result, by the end of 2027, the two older Bobst machines are expected to be replaced with more modern equipment.

Investments will also continue in Valence. Jean-Michel Leone is exploring the installation of a new automated cutting line with a sheet separator. By August 2025, the manufacturer had already expanded its production facility with two folding and gluing machines and an automatic cutting table.
