Upon his retirement, Benoît Demortreux passed the torch to a 35-year-old printer, Romain Gareau. The three-employee printing plant in Vire in Calvados has been called RG Print since 2 January, after the initials of the new manager.
Romain Gareau already has more than 15 years of experience in graphic arts. After a BEP bac pro PFI (preparation of the printing form) at the Lycée Paul-Cornu in Lisieux in Calvados, he held various positions for five years in a digital printing company in Paris. Then he returned to Normandy where he worked for about ten years at Corlet Numérique. He then set up workflow automation in printing plants with the company Bluewest.
"With the takeover of this printing house, I'm returning to my first love. I'm happy when I walk into a workshop and it smells like encre?! rejoices Romain Gareau. I'm a passionate, lover of imprimerie?!"
He goes on to say: "It's a company that was already doing well, but Mr. Demortreux, whom I knew from working with him at Corlet, wanted to retire. I learned from a mutual friend that he was looking for a buyer. I thought, "Why not?"
For six months, Benoît Demortreux accompanies the new boss to ensure a smooth transition with customers. The company's letterheads display the names of the Demortreux printing plant and RG Print.
The new leader has no shortage of projects. His first step is to automate the production flow, "the sinews of war in the printing press today." and then develop the market locally. Enough to allow Benoît Demortreux to leave with peace of mind...
