Disney redesigns the 20th Century Fox logo

The name of one of its founders had appeared in the logo since 1936.

The change of ownership of the Hollywood film studio 20th Century Fox is now visible in its logo: the word Fox has been removed, replaced by Studios. Since March 2019, the production company of blockbusters Avatar, Star Wars, Fight Club, Slumdog Millionaire or Titanic is owned by The Walt Disney Company.

The famous logo that appears on the screen under drum rolls and projectors has been named after one of its founders, William Fox, since 1936.

Last January, the American magazine Variety had revealed that the group founded by Walt Disney was considering changing the name of the film production company.
The creator of Mickey wanted to distance himself from the American television channels Fox and Fox News - two channels that were not bought out by the group - and thus avoid any confusion.

For the television channels, 20th Century Fox Television and Fox 21 Television Studios, no decision has yet been made regarding the presence of the word Fox.

The first film with this new logo is The Call of the Forest t directed by Chris Sanders (with Omar Sy and Harrison Ford) released February 19, 2020.

The word change is the most notable change in the logo. In fact, since its creation, the film studio logo has not changed much.
