The National Union of Suppliers to the Graphic Industries, SIPG, unveils the results of the
sales of new sheetfed offset presses in France in 2019. The manufacturers Heidelberg, Koenig & Bauer and Komori have delivered 256 printing units for all formats.
The market is therefore relatively stable compared to the previous year, when there were 266 groups (read Sharp drop in offset press sales in 2018, but this is a fact to be put into perspective ).
"It seems quite clear that the end of the over-amortisation scheme between 2015 and 2017 and the lack of economic visibility have not contributed to a significant recovery in investment" The union's sheetfed offset printing commission director and president of Komori France, Guillaume Gauger, notes.
The first half of 2019 has been quite bleak. However, the number of investment projects put forward by the sales teams of SIPG members rose significantly in the second half of the year.
"Of course, it is too early to make any predictions for the year 2020, as the coming health crisis could put the brakes on activity" careful note Guillaume Gauger.
