After the marketing of food colour inks on the N610i label press in September, Domino is preparing for the launch of UV97BK, a black food packaging compatible ink for the K600i inkjet press. The UV97BK was developed according to Nestlé's reference guidelines and is in line with the recommendations of the European Printing Ink Association (EuPIA).
It is a non-carcinogenic, mutagenic and reprotoxic (CMR) ink that can be used for non-direct food packaging applications. And under certain conditions, it can comply with European Union plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food regulations.
Jim Orford, K-Series Product Manager at Domino, says: "In addition to this compliance, UV97BK does not compromise on reliability or other mechanical properties. It therefore also offers excellent adhesion and abrasion resistance properties. Domino is one of the few digital inkjet printer manufacturers with the capability to design, develop and manufacture its own inks."
Over 700 Domino K600i multi-purpose inkjet printers have been installed worldwide.
