Domino Printing Sciences launches a new range of Thermal Ink Jet (TIJ) printers, the Gx series for printing on product labels, flexible films and cartons.
"With the Gx series, we have designed a versatile printer that easily adapts to changes in production schedules and also offers a solution for remote control and monitoring, which helps to reduce manpower on the production line", says Alexandros Mountis, TIJ Product Manager at Domino.
The Gx series has been designed for batch and date coding, but also for complex code formats, weight verification and traceability applications. It allows for improved product labelling and customisation of labels at an advanced stage of manufacturing operations. It is suitable for the pharmaceutical, electronics and food industries.
Gx printers can be customized with various options to meet specific production needs such as print heights up to 50.8 mm. All three models in the range can reach speeds of up to 300 m/min.
They are controlled either via a user interface and touch screen or remotely via a web browser.
"The Gx range leverages industry standards and can be integrated with existing automation systems to provide a coding and marking solution ready for Industry 4.0", says Alexandros Mountis. "The EtherCAT communication option allows our TIJ printers to communicate directly with PLCs to better control manufacturing processes. This translates into increased productivity and reduced coding errors."
