During the summer, Copy-Top, which specialises in print communication services, expanded its machine park with two new pieces of equipment, a SwissQprint flatbed printing table and a Zünd cutting table.
The printer specialising in print communication services already had 200 colour, black and white, large-format and plotter printers in its 41 branches and 2,000-metre production hall 2 of the group located in Aubervilliers in the Paris region.
SwissQprint's Impala increases the range of printable media by a factor of 20
The group, which generates sales of 25 million euros and employs 230 people, has opted for a SwissQprint flatbed printing table, Impala 3 six-colour plus white with the roll option. Despite its well-equipped machine park, this equipment with a 2.5×2m printing area expands the printing plant's printing options and eliminates the need for sub-contracting.

Indeed, until now, to make rigid supports, Copy-Top produced prints on paper using plotters, then laminated and plasticized them.
"After 20 panels, we were no longer productive. The production of large series had to be outsourced with the resulting disadvantages: loss of control over quality, deadlines and prices" explains Marie Cornière.
The SwissQprint UV inkjet printer SwissQprint increases the number of printable media per copy by a factor of 20.
Packaging in small series in the line of sight
"And as our range of media grows, we'll be able to meet our customers' demands for customization, which is a current trend that cannot be ignored." rejoices Marie Cornière. Copy-Top targets in particular the signage, interior decoration and packaging markets.
"We are interested in the packaging market because it is still very much focused on large series. Few manufacturers are equipped with machines that can respond to the niche market of personalisation, or even ultra-personalisation. The market will continue to evolve towards the personalisation of packaging in small series. These products need to provide customers with a high added value in terms of local advice. And this is the strength of Copy-Top."
Two channels of Impala 3 inks still available
In fact, the company still has some left over to meet the specific demands of these customers. Two ink channels are still available on SwissQprint for adding a varnish, spot colour or primary colour.
"We will complete these two channels at a later date, according to the requests of our agency clients. Perhaps the primer for glass-printing or the highly prized light black for photographers..."
A Zünd for automatic cutting
In addition, the printing company installed a Zünd cutting table at the same time. "No more cutting for us manuelle?! The Zünd is the counterpart of the SwissQprint in terms of possibilities, quality and production speed. The ideal tools for capturing the markets we're targeting."

In the future, Copy-Top wishes to continue the development of its machine park and its distribution channels towards its target markets.
