EFI launches a new version of its 1.8m wide LED UV inkjet digital press for corrugated board. The new EFI Nozomi C18000 Plus, based on the Nozomi C18000 model, offers, according to its manufacturer, productivity, quality improvements and greater versatility for single pass corrugated packaging and display applications.
This Plus model features a new patented sheet feeder and vacuum table system that reduces media distortion while maximizing productivity and printer uptime, EFI says.
The Nozomi C18000 Plus also has a new quality control system that identifies inkjet nozzle problems or other defects. The printer can also detect and recover jams in seconds, with automatic job continuation in sequence. And the Nozomi C18000 Plus printer's emergency proofing function can print a proof in 90 seconds while another job is running.
It features a new Digital Front-End (DFE), the EFI Fiery NZ-1000 DFE, which enables job processing 5% faster than the previous DFE. The Fiery NZ-1000 DFE also includes Smart Ink Estimator, a solution that analyzes image data for more accurate ink cost control. In addition, the EFI Nozomi C18000 Plus features Fiery Edge, an EFI profiling technology that saves ink without loss of image quality.
The printer also has new coater options for applying primers, including a quick-change anilox coating unit.
Like its predecessor, the Nozomi C18000 Plus achieves print speeds of up to 75 linear metres per minute, is available in CMYK, and optional orange, violet or white inks can be added.
An upgrade from EFI Nozomi to this Plus model is possible.
