The video allows the hotline technician to see exactly what the operator sees.

Impacted like all companies by travel restrictions due to the health crisis, Koenig & Bauer is highlighting its "?Visual PressSupport?" tool, which allows customers to communicate live via video (via a smartphone) with a hotline technician. When it is sometimes complicated to deal with complex mechanical problems only over the phone, video allows the hotline technician to see exactly what the operator sees. This eliminates the need for lengthy descriptions and reduces the risk of misunderstandings compared to a simple phone call, explains the manufacturer.

Koenig & Bauer trainers and experts pass on their knowledge in a small studio.

Visual PressSupport requires only a smartphone and an internet connection. The application can be used in many cases for problems related to the printing process or mechanical problems. Koenig & Bauer gives the example of a user of a large-format press who reported a sheet fold in the infeed unit. The design engineers requested to see the sheets in question and some mechanical elements via Visual PressSupport, and were able to determine an incorrect gripper setting. After correction, the press once again produced perfectly.

Remote commissioning

When installing a new press, the installation of UV dryers should be entrusted to specialists, explains the manufacturer. But if, due to the restrictions associated with Covid, they are unable to visit the site, commissioning is still possible with the use of Visual PressSupport (online training, specific instructions, etc.)
