Bobst changes its organizational structure

January 1, 2021 will mark for Bobst the implementation of its new commercial structure. This new organization should be "more customer-oriented, more accessible and more agile in its approach to innovation".

In order to "to build the future of the packaging market." Bobst launches a major reorganization of its business units. The Swiss Group wishes to improve production efficiency in the label, flexible packaging, folding carton and corrugated board industries by decompartmentalizing the stages of the transformation process so that each actor in the production chain can follow and intervene in the process from start to finish. To achieve this, it relies on four pillars: connectivity, digitalisation, automation and sustainability.

In order to work on these four axes, the Swiss group will be organized not on three but on two business units as of January 1, 2021. This new organisation "will be more customer-focused, more accessible and more agile in its approach to innovation".

The Sheet Fed and Web Fed business divisions, dedicated to the development of sheetfed and web solutions respectively, will merge to form the Sheet Fed and Web Fed business unit Printing and converting .

Unity Services and performance (formerly BU Services) will continue to propose the optimization of the performance of transformation sites. With this unit, Bobst is betting on the Internet for objects that "will enable converters to make fact-based decisions and optimize their overall production".
And the Bobst Connect cloud-based platform will play a central role, soon making it possible to follow the entire production process, from the customer PDF to the finished product.

These two business units will operate on a geographical area basis.

Raphaël Indermühle will head the Printing and Converting unit, and Christian Falk, Services and Performance.
