Bobst takes over Jetpack. The manufacturer of equipment for the printing and converting of packaging and labels has acquired 51% of the capital of the French Jetpack Group.
With this undisclosed investment, the Swiss group chaired by Jean-Pascal Bobst wishes to strengthen its presence in France and French-speaking Africa.
Created in 2014, Jetpack, based in Paris, is the distributor of Durst's inkjet printing and digital finishing systems for self-adhesive label and packaging manufacturers in the French and French-speaking markets. It also provides technical service for the Italian brand in these territories.
"The portfolio of products and services offered to French and French-speaking African customers will be the most extensive in the industry", says Bobst in a press release. He continues: "This new market offering will make it easier for all label printers and flexible packaging converters to access the best solutions available."
Bobst is currently very active in investing in digital solutions. Last December, Bobst acquired the remaining share capital of the company dedicated to inkjet printing Mouvent in order to "accelerate the development of its digital printing solutions" (read Bobst accelerates its investments in digital printing ). And the group has created an entity dedicated to laser cutting for the label and packaging sectors, with SEI Laser (more info : Bobst is banking on laser cutting with SEI Laser ).
