New food wrapping papers at Stora Enso

Stora Enso is expanding its offer with two new ranges and new references.

Stora Enso launches new food wrapping papers that can replace plastic solutions. The Finnish-Swedish papermaker offers two new paper ranges, LumiPack and LumiWrap, and adds grammages to its other packaging papers to expand their range of applications.

LumiPack and LumiWrap recyclable virgin fibre uncoated papers are designed for use in food. LumiWrap can be used for dry, wet and fatty foods.
LumiPack is a white, thin and strong wrapping paper. Its applications are wide, the manufacturer recommends it to replace the flute or liner of corrugated cardboard, in multilayer food cardboard for cakes, pizzas, berries, or as a pouch for small items.

Stora Enso has also expanded its C1S references (one-side coating) with new grammage choices in its LumiFlex and LumiLabel paper ranges.

"Many players in the food industry are taking steps to move to more sustainable packaging by eliminating plastics. A lot of research and development is needed to meet these goals, as we are still at the beginning of the transition from plastics to alternative materials, says Teija Kärkkäinen, Head of Business and Product Development at Stora Enso, in a press release. Many competent people are working to find new solutions and at the same time the growth of the global market for flexible packaging paper is steady, about 2% each year. So we're going to see a lot of innovation and more supply in the future."
