"It is a new page that is being written, says Gilles Mure-Ravaud. At 60 years old, he has just announced his departure from the CPI France group at the beginning of March after 15 years spent in sales and marketing management and as Deputy General Manager (between two periods of about 7 years at CPI he also passed through the Laballery printing company as General Manager).
Creation of GMR Conseil around 3 areas of activity
At the same time, Gilles Mure-Ravaud announced the creation of GMR Conseil, a structure that will bring together three completely distinct areas of activity, he explained:
"GMR Conseil will expand in the field of graphic industries with the development of sales in the book within the group Dupliprint in Domont and Mayenne (Jouve); in training with the creation of the master Manga and Comics in partnership with Asfored; and finally in the organization and development of the festival Chérisy Manga + Comics which will be held on 9 and 10 October 2021.»
A two-year course in comics and Manga
The Manga and Comics Master's degree, created in collaboration with Aida Diab, the executive director of Asfored (a training and professional development center in the publishing industry), will start in September 2021. The two-year program will include a month of training in Japan. Gilles Mure-Ravaud will be involved in the training on the manufacturing part. The training will include about fifteen students per class.
Third edition of the Chérisy Manga + Comics Festival
Created three years ago, the festival Chérisy Manga + BD will celebrate in 2021 its third edition. In spite of the coronavirus, the festival took place in 2020 in October.
"The festival could be maintained between two confinements, but the situation was very delicate. The day before the festival, we almost cancelled." explains Gilles Mure-Ravaud.
The event allows schools and apprenticeship centers of graphic arts to promote their discipline to the young public. It also welcomes authors and designers of manga and comics from major publishing houses and schools.

To enjoy, build and pass on
If Gilles Mure-Ravaud starts his activity alone today, he plans to hire an intern in 2021 and an apprentice in 2022. "The goal is to start passing on my knowledge and help the new generation who are struggling to find an internship or work-study program. At 60, I want to work differently, to work to enjoy myself, to work to build, and to work to transmit, concludes Gilles Mure-Ravaud.
