With its new investment, the CPI printer offers publishers "an important differentiator, especially in times of rising book prices.

Printed edges are in vogue. This type of book decoration is in high demand, according to one of the major players in the European printing market. The German subsidiary of the French printing group CPI has just invested in a second book slice printer.

The machine from the German manufacturer S-Printer can print CMYK images with a print resolution of 1,600 x 1,600 dpi on book edges up to 380 x 380 mm.
"Many new ideas can be realized in terms of design, which has a positive effect on sales." emphasizes the printer.

Olivier Maillard, CEO of the German group: "This investment in new technology allows us to make books even more attractive and thus create added value for our customers. We are convinced that digital edge finishing will have a permanent place in book production in the future."

The CPI Group is one of the few print service providers in Germany to offer book printing with digital color printing in large runs. A service that aims to be "an important differentiator" for publishers, especially in times of rising book prices.
