Every year, 2,000 French companies welcome more than 15 million visitors. The association Entreprise et Découverte, specialized in "know-how tourism", won a call for projects launched by the French General Directorate of Enterprises (DGE) to develop company visits in France.
To develop this tourism in the graphic industries, the association has joined forces with the Compagnie des chefs de fabrication des industries graphiques et de la communication (CCFI).
"It's a beautiful project" Pascal Lenoir, Director of Production for Editions Gallimard and Chairman of ITAB, is enthusiastic. " We are fortunate at ITAB to have the ability to bring together printers, print buyers, paper manufacturers and equipment manufacturers. This creates a beautiful community of spirit."
This call for projects, which will be developed over a period of three years, will take place in three phases: a diagnosis of the company visit by sector of activity and by region, the development of action plans and then the implementation of experiments.

All the companies of the graphic industry are concerned
Know-how tourism can bring many benefits to a company, regardless of its size or field of activity. " It can, for example, make the general public discover that we have been a circular economy industry for a very long time." emphasizes Pascal Lenoir.
The graphic industry is very rich, reminds the ITAB. It includes creation (design, writing, art direction, layout, etc.) and technical parts (photoengraving, printing, binding, finishing, routing, stationery, etc.).
The ITAB wishes to identify companies interested in this project. All branches of the graphic industry are concerned by this project. For the printing companies, the stakes are multiple: to develop a new profit center, to develop workers and a know-how, but also to promote jobs to the young people.
