The group's new strategic plan should "strengthen its value proposition for all its stakeholders".

Spanish paper and packaging producer Saica has presented its strategy for the next five years. This plan, called Saica 2025, includes 230 million euros per year in investments.

The Saica 2025 plan includes strengthening customer satisfaction, ensuring the well-being of its 10,000 employees, reducing its environmental impact, continuously improving processes, products and services, increasing the vertical integration of the company's different business areas, and becoming more dynamic in the search for sustainable solutions.

The Spanish group, which had sales of ?2.8 billion in 2020, wants to improve the efficiency of its four business lines - the manufacture of recycled paper for corrugated board with Saica Paper, waste management and environmental services with Saica Natur, the production of corrugated packaging with Saica Pack and flexible packaging with Saica Flex - and to ensure growth in Europe and the United States, where the group laid the foundation stone in October 2020.

The 230 million in investments will also enable the automation of warehouses, the fight against the obsolescence of plant equipment and the installation of biomass boilers.

On the environmental front, Saica will continue to reduce its carbon footprint, move towards zero waste and collaborate with scientific and technological institutions.

During the presentation made to the employees, Ramón Alejandro, president of the Saica Group, stated that the Saica 2025 strategy is born from a difficult economic, technological, generational, climatic and globalization situation. Ramón Alejandro stressed that "the company's 2025 strategy will serve to strengthen its value proposition for all its stakeholders: customers, employees, shareholders and the communities in which it operates, among others." .
