Changes in the Bobst Group Executive Committee

Swiss converting equipment manufacturer Bobst announces two appointments to head its business units.
As of January 1, 2022, the Swiss Alain Berger, currently responsible for the hot foil stamping, die-cutting, folding-gluing and laminating product lines, 50 years old, will succeed Stephan März as head of the Printing & Converting Business Unit, who has chosen to leave the company after 10 years of service and to refocus his professional activities outside Bobst.
And also from January 1, 2022, Raphaël Indermühle, the current Head of Sales Business Unit Printing & Converting, 55 years old and of Swiss nationality, will succeed Julien Laran, who has been Head of the Business Unit Services & Performance for the past 8 years and who has decided to leave BOBST to join another company as CEO and shareholder.

Price increase for Sidel equipment

"The global pandemic has disrupted the packaging solutions industry, as it has led to a sharp increase in costs as well as a shortage of raw materials and components used in equipment." announces French liquid food packaging solutions provider Sidel.

A new packaging plant for Klingele

German corrugated base paper and corrugated packaging manufacturer Klingele Paper & Packaging continues its expansion, this time in West Africa with a new converting plant near Dakar, Senegal.
The plant with two production lines is currently under construction. Production is scheduled to start in the summer of 2022 with a production capacity of 4,000 tons. 45 jobs should be created in the first phase. The group, which has a turnover of 820 million euros, wishes to serve the agricultural markets, as well as the fish and other food industries, in the West African regions from Morocco to Gabon.

In addition to opening up new West African markets, Klingele plans to export its own sustainable business model to Africa and create local jobs. The group wants to cover nearly 100% of the energy needs of these factories from renewable sources, especially solar energy.

A new look for the iconic G80-3000 keyboard

The German manufacturer Cherry is launching a new version of the iconic G80-3000 keyboard, which has been in production for almost 40 years. The new model, the G80-3000N RGB TKL, is inspired by the original: its classic and ergonomic keys offer "the same typing sensation" according to its manufacturer. The housing is slimmer and much reduced - the numeric keypad is gone, and the 16 million color RGB lighting and advanced electronics are completely new.

Six scholarships for six future graphic arts professionals

Six students from different French schools, all of them having completed a vocational baccalaureate and a technical diploma in the graphic industry, have been awarded the "Coup de pouce aux professionnels de demain" grant by the ImpriFrance printers' association.

The jury, composed of three company managers of the ImpriFrance network - Chantal Aboudeine of the Grafipolis school, Alexandre Malka of the CCI Imprimerie and Jean-Christophe Weitel of A. Geiger Imprimeur - met at the beginning of June to select the grant holders. These six people were chosen for their "perseverance in studies" and their "merit expressed through the will to surpass oneself and overcome difficulties" .
