Color Copy, Pergraphica and Nautilus papers from Mondi are Cradle to Cradle certified

Mondi's paper production has achieved the bronze level of Cradle to Cradle circular economy certification.

British and Austrian-based paper manufacturer Mondi has received Cradle to Cradle certification at the bronze level for its uncoated fine papers produced at its mills in Austria, Slovakia and Russia. The papers covered by Cradle to Cradle Certified are Mondi's well-known printing brands, Color Copy and Pergraphica, as well as its Nautilus range of recycled papers and a broad portfolio of office papers.

This international certification measures the circular economy of products on five environmental and social performance criteria: safety of materials used, reuse of materials, air and climate protection, water and soil protection, and social responsibility. The lowest level achieved on any of these criteria determines the overall level of certification, which is five levels: basic, bronze, silver, gold and platinum, which is the highest rating.

Mondi papers won bronze in the category of health safety of materials used, water and soil management and air and climate protection, gold for material reuse and social responsibility.

"We are proud to start the year with this strong sustainability result, which underscores our Global Action Plan 2030 (MAP2030) commitment to creating circular solutions." says Devan Naidoo, director of marketing and sales for Mondi Uncoated Fine Paper.

He adds: "For many years, Mondi has been a leader, and often a pioneer, in the sustainability of its uncoated fine papers. For example, Color Copy became the world's first FSC-certified color laser paper in 2005. With our new Cradle to Cradle certification, our customers have an exceptionally wide choice of products to support the environment and contribute to the circular economy without sacrificing quality or price."
