EFI continues its growth strategy in digital imaging announced last December, with the acquisition of Inèdit Software. The Spanish developer of RIPs and related software for industrial digital textile printing thus joins the textile business of EFI's Reggiani Group.
"Digital represents the biggest transformational opportunity we've ever seen in industrial printing." says Jeff Jacobson, CEO and executive chairman of EFI. "We are committed to driving innovation and expanding our offerings across all business cycles, as we aim to meet our customers' critical need to digitize and automate their workflows."
Barcelona-based Inèdit's portfolio includes a RIP technology used throughout the global textile industry, neoStampa, which drives EFI Reggiani digital printers as well as other textile printer brands. EFI says it will continue to produce a RIP compatible with other builders.
"Inèdit's strong market coverage is a key point in order to take full advantage of the strategic synergies arising from the combination of EFI Reggiani and Inèdit's activities." explains Adele Genoni, Vice President and General Manager of EFI Reggiani. "This is an acquisition that significantly strengthens our presence in key textile markets."
With this acquisition, EFI plans to create more complete digital print workflows. "The integration with the EFI Reggiani business gives us the means to develop and deliver an even higher level of integrated end-to-end textile workflow solutions and Industry 4.0-focused automation improvements, says Jose Antonio Caballero, co-founder and business manager of Inèdit. This will increase productivity, print performance, profitability and sustainability for customers in the textile printing industry."
Inèdit employees will continue to work from their current offices. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
