German manufacturer Perfecta changes shareholder after court-ordered takeover

German cutting systems manufacturer Perfecta comes under the control of Solvesta Beteiligungs as part of an insolvency takeover.

Perfecta continues to grow after several months of insolvency proceedings . Solvesta Beteiligungs takes over the assets of the German guillotine and cutting systems factory. The takeover preserves the know-how of the historic manufacturer and 60 jobs.

Founded in 1896, Perfecta, part of the Baumann Group, produces cutters and cutting lines for the commercial, packaging, digital printing and label sectors. The manufacturer also supplies associated automation and handling systems, and markets its equipment in over 70 countries.

The cutting equipment market is suffering from declining print volumes and pricing pressure from Asian manufacturers. Peter Voigt, Managing Director of Perfecta, comments: "With the new shareholder, we can and want to differentiate ourselves in this competitive environment by internationalizing and developing the complete systems business as well as service for the entire installed base of Perfecta machines."

Solvesta, a German fund specializing in the acquisition of companies in difficulty, reports that it has commercial contacts in the sectors using Perfecta equipment. Three years ago, the German holding company had already taken over Dienst, a former subsidiary of the Polar Group specializing in packaging machinery, which has since been renamed Dienst Packsystems.

Peter Voigt will head up the future Perfecta Precision Cutting Systems structure, which will remain based in Bautzen, Germany.
