Maury Imprimeur closes the Malesherbes page for good

The sale of the Malesherbes site marks the end of an era for Maury Imprimeur. Formerly the group's black book production center, the printing works will be converted into a data center.

Servers replace rotary presses. Maury Imprimeur, which generates sales in excess of 100 million euros, has sold its former industrial site in Malesherbes, Loiret, to the German Garbe Industrial Real Estate group. The complex, close to the A6, A19, A10 and A11 freeways, covers almost 65âeuros000Â m 2 . Historically dedicated to black and color book printing, Malesherbes will be converted to accommodate a data center.

In February 2024, Maury Imprimeur announced the closure of the Malesherbes site and the gradual transfer of production to the group's largest site, 10 kilometers away, between April 2024 and June 2025. "All our manufacturing operations will now be grouped together at the Manchecourt site."

The printer explained this decision as follows "rising costs, especially energy costs, and falling volumes" while at the same time seeking to secure jobs and "Maury's significant leadership position in the magazine, book and catalog printing markets" .
The group, which has been headed since the end of 2021 by Pierre-Antoine Laporte, nephew of founder Jean-Paul Maury, also stated its intention to "save paper transport, energy costs and rationalize production".
Maury Imprimeur also emphasized the evolution of its historical markets. "With our current main markets (magazine press and advertising flyers for supermarkets) in recession, we're going to focus on developing the color book printing sector, a very stable area of business."

Maury Imprimeur stated that all but six of the group's jobs would be maintained. The printing plant employed 482 people. But in June 2025, a job protection plan (PSE) was announced, concerning 52 positions. This plan was rejected at the beginning of the year.
