More and more IT-related training at Heidelberg

For the printing press manufacturer, the increase in demand for information-related training and work-study reflects the company's digital transformation.

The new training year at Heidelberg has just begun. 128 young women and men have started their internship and work-study programs at one of the printing press manufacturer's German sites in Brandenburg, Amstetten, Ludwigsburg and, above all, at the company's headquarters in Wiesloch-Walldorf.

"Through its high rate of apprenticeship training, the company is preventing a shortage of skilled labor, while helping to mitigate the challenges of demographic change." indicates Heidelberg.

Young people are selected on their academic grades, but also on their social skills, personality and interest in the profession. French nationals are not excluded from these courses, but it is necessary to be fluent in German.

In addition to various technical, commercial and interdisciplinary training courses, twelve professions are currently offered. Production-related professions - such as mechatronics engineer, industrial engineer and electronics engineer - account for the majority of the training courses.

However, Heidelberg has noted an increasing demand for IT-related jobs, courses and training. In addition to the Application Development specialization that has been in place for several years, the company is now offering a Data and Process Analysis option.

"This indicates the growing importance of IT-related jobs and training resulting from the digital transformation of the enterprise."
