Picourt Packaging creates an easy open and close label for Lustucru

The Lustucru pasta package is plastic-free even with its adhesive label.

Picourt Packaging, a packaging printer located in Frucourt, Somme, has developed a new type of label. Created for the new range of Lustucru pasta, this label has the particularity of being able to be glued and re-glued on a paper support, without damaging it.

Lustucru wanted to present the Les bonnes pâtes françaises range in paper packaging so that it would be entirely recyclable. However, the adhesive labels for easy opening and closing, usually used on plastic packaging, are not compatible with paper.

After several months of research, the Picardy printer managed to find a solution: he made a double label.
The top label has the following function "to maintain the top of the package, in order to make the pasta package as compact as possible when stored in the store" explains the company and allows Lustucru to communicate on its plastic-free packaging.

Underneath, the second label, on which is written the message "Enjoy" is not removable. It serves as a support to reposition the opening and closing label while preserving the paper packaging.

Although this system does not allow the pasta packet to be compacted once opened, as with plastic packets, it can be fully recycled in the conventional packaging stream.
