AstroNova VP-800 direct-to-wrap printer

The two new QuickLabels, QL-425, QL-435 and VP-800, are designed to meet the needs of label converters and medium-run printers, while the VP-800 is intended for packaging applications.

At the Fespa Global Print Expo 2025, to be held May 6-9 in Berlin, Germany, AstroNova will launch a new range of printing solutions for the label and direct-to-packaging markets. The American manufacturer will unveil two digital inkjet presses for labels, the QL-425 and QL-435 models, as well as a new machine dedicated to direct printing on packaging substrates, the VP-800.

"This range isn't just an update: it's a complete overhaul of medium-volume production", says AstroNova CEO Greg Woods. "Thanks to the flexibility of our new print engine, our products are more easily compatible with components, allowing greater flexibility in support and future upgrades, meeting the stock needs of users and ourselves."

QL-425 and QL-435 for medium-volume labels

The two additions to the QuickLabel range, the A4-width QL-425 and the A3-width QL-435, are aimed primarily at label converters, specialist printers and brands with medium-run label production needs. The manufacturer emphasizes reduced operating costs thanks to increased automation and improved operating stability.

The VP-800 for direct printing on durable substrates

The VP-800 printer stands out for its ability to print on a variety of uncoated substrates, including corrugated board, padded envelopes, paper bags and even wood. This focus on sustainable materials is designed to meet the growing demand for customized printing on primary or secondary packaging within short deadlines.
