The English company Euro Packaging sets up in France

This new paper packaging plant will be "the most environmentally advanced in Europe".

Euro Packaging (EP Group) is to open a fifth factory, this time in France. The English packaging manufacturer has chosen Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône in the Bouches-du-Rhône region of France to set up its paper bag and packaging plant.

47 million, this paper packaging conversion unit is announced as "the most environmentally advanced in Europe" and "will lower the ecological footprint of France's food supply chains" . More than 200 jobs will be created in France as a result of this installation.

Within five years, EP Group's French unit is expected to provide a capacity representing more than 20% of the paper packaging needs of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.

EP Group already operates a paper bag manufacturing facility in Birmingham, UK, as well as a retail packaging facility in Birmingham, an aluminum packaging facility in Wales and a flexible packaging facility in Malaysia. The group employs over 1,000 people worldwide and has a turnover of approximately £170 million (?195 million).

Ibrahim Majid, managing director of Euro Packaging Group, said in a statement: "Sustainability and advanced manufacturing are cornerstones of our strategy, and this investment is consistent with our goal of producing state-of-the-art paper products in France and Europe. We are also excited about the opportunity to position ourselves as one of the major economic players in Aix-Marseille."
